AFTERNOON SPORTS & ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
We are pleased we are able to offer extracurricular activities during lunch bunch and extended day this school year. If your child is taking advantage of our extra activities including Tap/Ballet, Soccer Champs, Mini Motor Magic, Rising Readers, or Reading Rockstar classes, you must register with the company or individuals managing the programs. Information and email links to register are included below along with general information and forms. Please read through to see what we are offering.
Please note: your child does not have to participate in extracurricular activities to be part of lunch bunch or the extended day. We bring these extras to you, so you don't have to travel Atlanta. If you choose to take advantage of lunch bunch or extended day without enrolling in extracurricular activities, our children eat lunch or snack, play in the classrooms and go to the playground.

TAP / BALLET PROGRAM
GROSS-MOTOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Creative Movement & Dance
Time: Mondays
Tap Ballet 1: Older 2's & 3's @ 12:45pm - 1:30pm
Tap Ballet 2: Older 3's & Up @ 1:30pm - 2:15pm
*Pick up for Group 2 is in the fellowship hall at 2:15pm. Feel free to pull to the lower parking lot.
Price: $82/month thru May; plus $40 Registration Fee
Session Length: Sept – May (Start: Sept. 9)
"We are committed to quality dance training, taught by the most talented dance teachers in the South. CMD teachers are reliable and always prepared, with well-planned, age-appropriate lessons. They enjoy the children, and welcome parents to observe at any time. CMD classes are structured, yet flexible to meet the needs of pre-schoolers thru primary students who need to have fun while learning."

Kidokinetics
Time: Wednesdays
18 Months–2.5 Year Olds @ 12:30 - 1:00pm
3-5 Year Olds @ 1:00 - 1:45pm

Program Length: Aug. 21 – Dec. 18
SportsPLAY by Kidokinetics is a weekly 30-45-minute sports enrichment class at our school where kids get to have fun, get exercise, and get introduced to new sports and activities every week from a certified coach. Every kid gets equipment, every kid plays, every time. 12:30pm - 1pm (18 months - 2.5 years) 1pm - 1:45pm (3 years - 5 years).
CHESS PROGRAM
The Knight School: Little Geniuses
Time: Thursdays @ 1:30 - 2:15pm
Ages: 3-6 Year Olds
Price: $85/month
Session Length: Sept – Dec (Fall Session, Start: Sept. 5)
Can preschoolers really learn chess? You bet they can! The Knight School Little Geniuses Chess Program is a preschool chess class with an ingenious curriculum designed to exactly target, stimulate, and delight the preschool mind. Our fun chess lessons of the week—“Think a Plan and Follow It,” “Cool Kids Lose Well,” “Friends Are Always There,” “Never, Ever Cheat,” “I Must Never Give Up,” and another ten like those—are just what preschoolers need to hear and want to hear. These chess lessons for kids can last a lifetime.
In addition to the weekly meetings, enrollment includes a chess set with replacement pieces for life, t-shirt, colorful bracelets earned throughout the year which signify mastery of different strategies and tactics!

ORTON GILLINGHAM
MULTI-SENSORY LITERACY INSTRUCTION
Rising Readers
Time: Tuesdays @ 1:40pm – 2:40pm
Ages: Pre-K & Kindergarten
Price: $300
Session Length: 12 weeks (Start: Aug. 27)
Ms. Emily and Ms. Orla are offering a "Rising Readers" class to help your child increase their reading skills in a fun and interactive way! We will use games and other multi-sensory resources to work on letter/sound recognition, as well as several other phonemic awareness and phonics activities to help improve their reading skills. We both have certifications in elementary education, as well as years of experience teaching reading and writing to PreK and Kindergarten children. Emily is also trained in the Orton Gillingham approach to reading, which is a great way to teach all levels of readers.
If you would like us to assist with transitioning your child after 1:00, you will need to sign up for extended day so that we can make sure they have a snack, use the restroom and are ready to be transitioned at 1:30.
FINE-MOTOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Time: Thursdays
3-4 Year Olds @ 1:35 - 2:05pm
Pre-K & Kindergarten @ 2:10 - 2:40pm

Session Length: 12 weeks (Start: Aug. 22)
Ms. Orla McCormack & Ms. Maria Holbrook will engage in crafting with kids and help develop fine motor skills. The act of grabbing a crayon, paintbrush, pompoms, ribbon, or glue develops the muscles that will later help your little one button their coat, tie their shoes, write their beautiful name, paint a masterpiece and more! Fine motor skills are essential for learning fundamental life skills such as, writing, letter formation, pencil grip, coloring, cutting, buttoning, and zipping.
SOCCOR & SPORTS PLAY

Time: Fridays (45 minute sessions)

We’re glad to announce that CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND DANCE® (CMD) will be returning this Fall to offer Soccer Champs at OPP.
CMD has been the finest dance enrichment program in the Southeast for over 39 years. All instructors are professionals (degreed or professional credits). Your child receives studio quality instruction conveniently at this location (OPP&K).
